I am finally searching for new living arrangements. Sharing and subletting are the staple of residential living here and you have to be a trustworthy fellow in order to find good accommodations. Imagine my shock, then, when a new potential roommate/landlord discovered a court record in my name that incriminated me in a petite theft case. Those who know me well of course know that I have never been arrested for anything, let alone being convicted of or pleading guilty to theft of any grade. The pressure of this incident forces me to concede that there may be an office paper clip or two that I've smuggled out for personal use in my decades of professional life (sorry Susan, but it's probably true for a sticky or two as well), or maybe a candy bar or two from the 7-11 when I was a rowdy head-banging teen, but never, ever, have I stolen anything from anyone at levels even beginning to approach official arrest-bearing criminality.
In fact, I do take my reputation and public perceptions of my integrity very seriously. Not just because of the extra hassle involved when it comes to trying to find a new living arrangement, but because I work hard to be a good person and a trustworthy one. I grew up a "goody two-shoes", rarely drinking, never doing drugs, passing on all kinds of "fun" even as it burgeoned around me. Oh, I eased up to the present -- God knows I've long succumbed to the vices of humankind having gradually become more human over the years. But, to have severe misinformation about me lying around in official channels, especially those findable on the web that seem to reinforce this information, is not acceptable. In 44 years of life I have never done anything so serious and so damning as to merit police attention (I mean besides running what some might perceive as weird websites or perhaps being so odd I must be suspect -- but I can't do anything about that) or certainly leading to court cases where I am a defendant. My record is clean, I have never been arrested, and I have never been accused or inclined to instigate accusation of a crime against me, period. End of story.
To explain the situation prompting this post, and to assist future researchers into my background, I have created a specific web page that I hope will eventually act as a Google vector to me that will appear whenever someone does a search on my name, David Earl Pinero. Until I am sure that certain records have been corrected absolutely and completely, as I once believed they had been, this page should level the playing field. You can view it here.
