The big event of yesterday and today through the 10th, is Siemen's High Speed Rail Tour which is apparently underway at MOSI. Get over there while you can as they have all sorts of exhibits and information regarding Tampa's upcoming high speed rail connection. The official information page with all the details is right here.
They're kicking off this tour in Tampa where the national High Speed Rail policy was kicked off in Tampa with a federal committment to fund the Tampa/Orlando leg of a statewide HSR network. A statewide network that will probably take decades to be fully realized, but, only a matter of years for Tampa's segment to Orlando.
I don't know where the talks are at in regards to who's gonna build it, but Siemens is, of course, likely a top candidate. Someone correct this fool if it's already certain.
You can follow Siemen's Twitter feed, and, hop on their High Speed Facebook page.
Siemen's Velaro High-speed Train Coming to Florida
Anyway, poised to take advantage of America's new lean toward HSR, they have participated in the Auto Channel's video "Siemens Velaro High-speed Train Coming to Florida". The write up they do also provides many details on the event taking place down at MOSI.
