Citing developments in the Panama Canal Governor Rick Scott has declined to proceed with a high speed rail system. 

The Panama Fucking Canal folks.

And, apparently, he didn't even wait for the ridership figures and other data he purportedly said he would before making this decision.

Rick Scott to Tampa: Focus on the Panama Canal instead.

He has declined to accept the Federal Government's $2 billion in capital monies, and he has rejected the risk on a project 90 percent paid for by everyone except Florida.

Rick Scott rode into office on a wave of Ross Perot type lunatics that will be long evaporated as a comical hiccup in American politics in under 2 years.  When that happens he'll have to answer for this in his re-election without them.

This is what happens when you don't confine irrational people to blogs.
