As I write this I've made it as far as New Jersey. I'm getting ready to leave the Comfort Inn in Runnemede, NJ and head into NYC.  They say traffic is a monster over the George Washington Bridge, so I'll just have to brave it I suppose.  Washington D.C. was no fun but at least there was mercy for me all around.

And what's with the crazy truckers?  They'd just as soon kill someone than drive around'em.  I have a half a mind to pick up a cheap CB handheld just to personally ask each one as they bear down on me if manslaughter is really the mechanism by which they want to get where they're going a tad faster.  Crazy.

But, the weather here is crisp, the leaves are changing colors already, and the big city lie just ahead now.  Well worth the risk so far!
