So check it out.  Coming home tonight I spotted the carnage of a city bus that had just collided with a garbage truck.  Everyone was okay, thank god, but both truck and bus were probably put out of commission.  The diesel gas tank of the garbage truck was on the sidewalk!  As I took these pictures the putrid smell of diesel gasoline hung heavy.

This incident took place at Crescent Street and Queens St. (per Google Map; I would have thought Queens Blvd., personally), a number of blocks down from my home station.
